Greetings there!
I am delighted to announce that I will be launching a series of blog articles under the name of "Mike's Workshop" over the next few weeks and months.
As you may already know, GraceBlocks has been in development for over three years now, and we recently announced an "Open Beta" for everyone to try it out and test its capabilities.
At its core, GraceBlocks is a powerful tool for creating collaborative applications that are ideal for managing data across any size team, from one to thousands. It may seem like a wide range, but with GraceBlocks, you can problem solve with ease.
One common use-case for GraceBlocks is migrating solutions initially built in Google Spreadsheets or Excel online that have run into the limitations of a spreadsheet-based solution. Spreadsheets are fantastic for drafting out a solution because they are user-friendly and quickly modifiable. However, as the solution grows, spreadsheets can become problematic when you need more straightforward data access control, working with attachments, more complex relational data linking, and more robust data organization. GraceBlocks can solve these problems and offer a lot more value with built-in security, relational data mapping, configurable notifications, mobile applications, web forms and more.
Due to the sheer versatility of GraceBlocks, I often get asked, "Where do I begin?". Users can get overwhelmed by trying to identify the best problem to solve and often fear that it may be too difficult or that they lack the necessary skills to build it themselves. But let me assure you, if you can use a spreadsheet, you can use GraceBlocks.
But seeing is believing. With my "Mike's Workshop" blog articles, I aim to make it easier for you to get started. I will be posting small, simple snippets of how you can use GraceBlocks to solve common problems you may encounter every day. Along with a quick summary of the problem definition and proposed solution, I will provide a quick self-guided walk-through so that you can see just how easy it can be to deliver collaborative applications.
I take requests too, so If you have a current workflow/process built on spreadsheets that you're looking to improve (or any data based workflow problem), and would like to see how GraceBlocks could improve it, send me the details (mike@graceblocks.com) and I will construct a solution for you!
Below is a simple example of the type of walk-through's I'll be using. Just click along to see how to use a specific feature. I will make sure I keep these very short and simple to focus on very specific aspects of GraceBlocks.
So, buckle up, and let's get creative with GraceBlocks!
